Job summary

A children's hospice organization based in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated Cleaner to provide efficient housekeeping at their hospice outside Norwich. Qualifications

We are looking for a dedicated Cleaner to provide an efficient, high-quality housekeeping at our purpose built hospice, The Nook, outside Norwich.

This is a vital role in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children, young people, and their families.

Part-Time, 22.5 hours per week

Permanent Contract

Salary £24,000 FTE, per annum

Main duties of the job
  • Carry out cleaning duties in line with hospice standards.
  • Wash, dry, and iron clothes, bed linen, towels, and soft furnishings.
  • Maintain safe storage and use of cleaning materials in accordance with COSHH regulations.
  • Work as part of a team providing 7-day cover.

Job responsibilities
  • Carry out cleaning duties as laid down in the Hospice cleaning schedule,and as instructed by the, Facilities Site Manager, Care Manager or ServiceManager.
  • Wash, dry and iron clothes, bed linen, towels and soft furnishings usingthe hospice laundry.
  • Ensure that all cleaning materials are stored as directed.
  • Understand C.O.S.H.H. Regulations, and ensure that only the cleaningproducts listed are used.
  • Inform the Facilities Site Manager when stocks of cleaning materials arerunning low.
  • Liaise with the Facilities SiteManager to ensure thatDepartment of Health guidelines on cleaning standards are adhered to.
  • All duties are shared on a rota basis with other members of theHousekeeping team, providing 7 day cover.
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
Person Specification
Skills and abilities
  • High standard of cleanliness to meet Department of Health and infection control requirements
  • Ability to identify and respond to unexpected priorities as they occur.
  • Planning and organisational skills.
Other criteria
  • Current full, valid driving license
Experience
  • Experience working as a Cleaner/ Housekeeper
Knowledge and training
  • Understanding of COSHH
