Job description

LOCATION: COUNTY MALL, Crawley, RH10 1FP

SHIFT PATTERN: 5 days per week varied pattern, 40 hours per week

PAY RATE: £12.82 PER HOUR

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Deliver cleaning services to client’s facilities in and around the building, indoors and outdoors to a high standard.
• Clean floors across the shopping centre areas, including toilets, management and back of the house.
• Lift and escalators cleaning.
• Jet-washing, dust mopping/dusting, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, litter picking, picking up larger objects off the floor, and spot cleaning glass doors/glass panels/windows; clean all stainless-steel fixtures and door panels; wet/dry mop inside and external.
• Perform general cleaning duties on an external and internal environment, service yards, and car parks.
• Act as a helpful point of contact for customers who need assistance.
• Be watchful for health and safety issues and report them to the management team.
• Ensure that cleaning/maintenance checks and site‑specific compliances are adhered to.
• Keep the site safe, clean & welcoming for clients, tenants and visitors.
• Serve as an excellent ABM brand ambassador.

Required Skills and Experience

• Cleaner service experience within the retail or similar environment (preferable).
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to use own initiative to identify and prioritise tasks.
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
• Approachable and courteous manner.
• Excellent attention to detail within cleaning responsibilities.
• Flexibility to meet the needs and demands of the role & the business.

Desirable but not essential Skills and Knowledge

• Knowledge of how to use cleaning chemicals – COSHH.
• Driving licence B category.
• Ability to operate compactor, baller, floor cleaning machine.
