Job summary

A regional educational authority in Northern Ireland is seeking a cleaner to undertake various cleaning tasks within their premises. The ideal candidate will have at least three months of experience in cleaning, including the use of commercial cleaning tools. This role requires adherence to health and safety standards and contributes to maintaining a hygienic environment within educational facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three months' experience in a cleaning role.
• One year's experience of cleaning outside home environment.
• Experience using a range of commercial cleaning tools.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and machine scrub floors using appropriate equipment.
• Clean and remove stains from soft floor surfaces.
• Clean toilet and shower areas including fixtures.
• Dust and clean ledges, walls, fixtures, and fittings up to 3.35M.
• Empty and clean internal litter bins.

Job description

Undertake as part of a team, the cleaning of any area within the premises, designated by the line manager.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, suction clean, mop, dry buff, spray clean, spray wax, machine scrub and dry, strip and re-polish floors using appropriate equipment.
• Clean and remove stains of soft floor surfaces (carpets/matting) using the appropriate cleaning method.
• Clean toilet and shower area including the fixtures and fittings.
• Clean, wash and dust ledges, walls, fixtures, fittings and internal surfaces up to 3.35M. Polishing furniture where appropriate.
• Empty and clean internal litter bins and remove litter to the designated collection points.

Skills and Qualifications

• Have a minimum of three months’ demonstrable working experience in a cleaning role.
• To meet the statutory obligations under Health and Safety legislation the successful applicant may be required to undertake training as necessary & provided by the EA cleaning service.
• One year’s experience of cleaning outside home environment.
• Demonstrable experience of using a range of commercial cleaning tools (e.g. buffing machinery).
