Job summary

J D Wetherspoon is seeking a friendly Cleaner for The Coliseum in Abergavenny. No experience is required, just a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. The role offers flexible shifts across mornings, evenings, weekends and late finishes to suit both full and part-time availability.

You will be responsible for cleaning all pub areas to high standards, including customer spaces, toilets and staff areas, with training provided and opportunities for progression within the company.

Qualifications

No experience required, just a good attitude and willingness to learn.
Calm head under pressure and teamwork.
Reliable and friendly, able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Clean all areas of the pub thoroughly to a high standard.
Maintain cleanliness in customer areas, toilets, bar, kitchen and staff areas.
Follow standard operating procedures for daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks.
Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and correctly.
Monitor stock of cleaning supplies and notify the manager when replenishment is needed.
Interact politely with customers and assist as needed.
Complete induction and ongoing refresher training.

The role:

At a glance, your role is to clean all areas of the pub thoroughly, with the aim of enhancing the customer experience by having excellent standards of cleanliness at all times.

Our pubs open early and close late, so we offer great flexibility with shift patterns, including mornings, evenings, weekends and late finishes.

Duties Include:

maintaining cleanliness in all areas: customer areas, toilets, bar, kitchen, staff areas and outside spaces
completing daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks, following standard operating procedures
following correct procedures when using cleaning chemicals and equipment
monitoring cleaning supplies and notifying the manager when more are needed
reporting all maintenance and pest-management issues to the manager on duty
interacting politely with customers - greeting them, saying `thank you` and `goodbye`
completing required induction, role-specific and ongoing refresher training and contributing to continuous improvement
