Job summary

Great Places Housing Group is seeking a practical, customer‑facing operative to support property clearances and void property readiness in Sheffield and the High Peak area. The role requires a full UK driving licence and a hands-on approach to cleaning, mould treatment and waste disposal.

You will work with colleagues to maintain safe practices, complete training, and use PDA tools to manage job records, while delivering respectful service to residents and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence is required.
• Physically active environment.
• Excellent communication and ability to build positive relationships.
• Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the clearance of properties at tenancy end, including removal of items and waste.
• Cleaning and preparing void properties to a high standard for trade operatives.
• Carrying out mould treatment, damp prevention works, and removing damaged decorations.
• Clearing and maintaining areas, including gardens, and disposing waste appropriately.
• Maintaining accurate waste disposal records in line with policies.
• Treating customers’ homes with respect and working safely at all times.
• Looking after equipment, ensuring it is clean and safe.
• Attending and completing training, toolbox talks and e-learning modules.
• Communicating professionally with customers and stakeholders.
• Carrying out work safely and leaving homes clean and secure.
• Using PDA/mobile tech to update repair jobs and produce records.

39 hours per week – 8:00am–4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am–3:30pm Friday, paid overtime opportunities available (subject to business need)

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting the clearance of properties at the end of tenancies, including removal of household items and waste
• Cleaning and preparing void properties to a high standard, ensuring they are safe and ready for trade operatives
• Carrying out mould treatment, minor damp prevention works, and removing damaged decorations
• Clearing and maintaining internal and external areas, including gardens, and removing waste from other trades for appropriate disposal
• Maintaining accurate waste disposal records in line with policies and procedures
• Treating customers’ homes with respect, working safely at all times, and reporting any concerns
• Looking after equipment, ensuring it is clean, safe, and in good working order
• Attending and completing all required training, toolbox talks, and e-learning modules
• Communicating professionally and empathetically with customers, colleagues, and local stakeholders
• Carrying out work safely and professionally, ensuring customers’ homes are left clean and secure
• Using PDA/mobile technology to receive, update, and manage repair jobs efficiently
• Producing accurate records, including before-and-after photographs and detailed job notes

What You’ll Need

• Full UK manual driving licence
• Comfortable working in a physically active and practical environment

• Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers and teams
• Previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial but is not essential
