Veritas Education Recruitment is hiring a Classroom Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN setting in Chigwell. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils access lessons and engage with learning activities, and assisting with communication and emotional regulation.

The position is full-time term-time only, Monday to Friday 8:00am-4:00pm, with a pay of 100-115 per day. A patient, caring approach and experience in SEN are essential; a Child and Adult DBS is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs.
• Experience in SEN/education/care/support work/ youth work or similar setting.
• Patient, caring and resilient approach.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Confidence working with pupils with complex needs.
• Genuine passion for helping children develop.
• A valid Child and Adult DBS would be highly desirable.

Are you a patient, caring and enthusiastic Classroom Support Assistant looking to make a genuine difference in a specialist SEN setting?

We are recruiting for a Classroom Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Chigwell, supporting children and young people with a range of additional and complex needs.

The school supports pupils aged 5-19 years, from Primary through to Sixth Form, including pupils with Autism (ASD), SLD, PMLD, communication difficulties, sensory needs and complex learning difficulties.

The Role

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support within the classroom.
• Help pupils access lessons and engage with learning activities.
• Support pupils with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience within SEN, education, care, support work, youth work or a similar setting.
• A patient, caring and resilient approach.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Confidence working with pupils who may have complex needs.
• A genuine passion for helping children and young people develop.
• A valid Child and Adult DBS would be highly desirable.

Experience supporting ASD, SLD, PMLD, sensory needs, communication difficulties or challenging behaviour would be beneficial.
