Overview

We are looking for a kind, reliable and motivated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Amesbury. This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who loves supporting children with additional needs and wants to play a meaningful part in their growth, learning and daily wellbeing.

Responsibilities
  • Providing 1:1 Teaching Assistant support as well as small group assistance to help pupils stay focused and make progress.
  • Working with pupils who have a range of needs including ASD, communication delays, sensory needs, SEMH, PMLD, and developmental challenges.
  • Helping to create a calm, structured and positive classroom environment.
  • Supporting pupils with personal care, feeding and mobility when required (full training can be provided).
  • Building strong, consistent relationships with pupils to help them feel safe and confident.
  • Collaborating closely with teachers, therapists and other Teaching Assistants to provide tailored support.
  • Using visual supports, communication tools and routines to help pupils understand expectations and transitions.

Requirements for the Teaching Assistant Role

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant position, you should:

  • Be calm, patient and adaptable to different situations.
  • Have some experience supporting children or young people (formal or informal experience is welcome).
  • Be confident supporting pupils with additional or complex needs, including personal care.
  • Have good communication skills and enjoy working as part of a supportive team.
  • Ideally have a DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
  • Be open to further training and development within your Teaching Assistant role.
Salary

£88.92 - £100.00 per day, depending on experience.
