Job summary

Minerva Learning Trust invites applications for a Cover Supervisor at Handsworth Grange Community Sports College. You will provide cover by delivering set work in the teacher’s absence and liaise with staff to discuss tasks and progress.

This permanent role is 37 hours per week, term time (39 weeks), starting September 2026. The ideal candidate will have strong literacy and numeracy, the presence to manage classes, and the ability to use ICT to support learning. DBS check will be completed.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with students.
• Strong literacy and numeracy to support learning activities.
• Willingness to work term-time with flexibility for cover requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide cover teaching by delivering set work in the absence of the scheduled teacher.
• Liaise with teachers to discuss cover work and provide feedback on student progress and behaviour.
• Support the use of ICT in delivering lessons and learning activities.
