Job summary

Osborne Co-operative Academy Trust is seeking a Class Teacher (Year 3) for 2.5 days a week at Bonnygate Primary School in South Ockendon. The role is part-time, shared, with a salary on the Main Scale 1-6 and a 50% FTE equivalent of £17,199–£23,419 per year. Start date 1 January 2027.

The successful candidate will be committed to raising outcomes for all students, a strong communicator, and able to manage classrooms calmly while prioritising welfare and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as an effective practitioner, or an ECT that has achieved highly during training.
• Committed to raising outcomes for all students.
• Strong communication and organisational skills with safeguarding awareness.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils to ensure engagement in learning activities.
• Promoting inclusion and acceptance of all students in the classroom.

• Dealing with immediate problems per health, welfare and safeguarding policies.

FTE 50% (Wednesday PM, Thursday & Friday)

This role is offered as part of a job‑share arrangement, working 2.5 days per week alongside an existing postholder

Salary: Teachers Main Scale 1- 6

(£34,398 - £46,839 FTE per annum - £17,199 - £23,419 actual salary per annum at 50% FTE)

Start Date: 1st January 2027

We are looking to appoint a teacher to join our school, on a part time basis, for 2.5 days a week.

Bonnygate Primary School is a 2-form entry school with a nursery in South Ockendon and is a vibrant and diverse school where children are enthusiastic and motivated to achieve endless possibilities. We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, and committed teacher to join our friendly and diverse team. We are keen to appoint someone with a proven track record as an effective practitioner, or an ECT that has achieved highly whilst training.

This position will involve:

• Supporting pupils, to ensure they are engaged in learning activities
• Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom
• Acting as a role model, setting high expectations of conduct and promoting positive pupil behaviour, to create a safe and inclusive learning environment
• Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school’s policies and procedures about health & safety, welfare and wellbeing and safeguarding
• Establishing positive relationships with the pupils, parents and other staff in the school

The successful candidate will be:
