A local education authority in Bristol is seeking a part-time Class Teacher (Music) to inspire primary pupils through engaging music lessons. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching music and a firm understanding of delivering high-quality education. Responsibilities include lesson planning, assessment of student work, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance the learning environment. This temporary position runs until June 2026 and offers professional learning opportunities.

Class Teacher (Music) / Visiting Specialist of Music - Part-time (working Wednesdays, although this can be changed by mutual agreement)
Stage: All stages P3-P7
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Class Teacher who can deliver music lessons or a Music Specialist with a passion for teaching primary aged pupils music to join our team on a part-time basis, one day per week. The successful candidate will ideally have experience across a range of stages.

Class Teacher (Music)
Teach assigned classes together with associated preparation and correction.
Develop the school curriculum.
Assess, record and report on the work of pupils.
Prepare pupils for examinations and assist with their administration.
Provide advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education.
Promote and safeguard the health, welfare and safety of pupils.
Work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals.
Undertake appropriate and agreed Career Long Professional Development (CLPL).
Participate in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and individual review.
Contribute towards good order and the wider needs of the school.
Visiting Specialist of Music
To teach a designated subject (Music/Physical Education/Art or Modern Languages) in line
with Curriculum for Excellence.
Teach assigned classes in line with Curriculum for Excellence.
Prepare lessons and courses.
Undertake development of the curriculum.
Contribute to the assessment and reporting on the work of pupils.
Contribute to the professional development of colleagues.
Consult with and assist colleagues on subject specific education issues.
Participate in the organisation of the school to contribute to the school development
Plan and school policies as considered appropriate by the Head Teacher.
Maintain good order and discipline among pupils and to safeguard their health and safety.
Advise and guide pupils on issues related to their education.
Work co-operatively as part of a team.
