The Job Role

We are currently looking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and inspirational SEN Teacher who brings a "can do" attitude and a strong desire to work with children with complex learning needs. The successful candidate will ideally begin with us in 2026. Our school is expanding, and you will play a key role in supporting this growth while continuing our journey towards excellence. We aim to hire someone who will help shape the future of our school and inspire the next generation of learners.

You will have experience working with special needs children, particularly those with Autism, and a keen interest in demonstrating innovation and excellence in your classroom practice. We are looking for someone with high expectations for themselves and their pupils—someone who can engage and challenge students with complex needs, helping them develop a lifelong love of learning and realise their full potential. A solid understanding of Early Years principles is beneficial, as we incorporate these across all age groups within the school. You will be teaching children with complex needs, including ASD, sensory difficulties, and potentially PMLD children.

Who Are We Looking For

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Teacher who demonstrates:

  • A strong vision and a passion for deepening both knowledge and practice

  • Ambition, both for themselves and for their pupils
  • Resilience and flexibility
The Successful Candidate Will
  • Understand the importance of safeguarding children
  • Show a commitment to continuous professional development
  • Have knowledge of current educational developments, particularly in relation to pupils with special educational needs, including Autism
  • Be experienced in planning, assessment, recording, and reporting for pupils with a broad spectrum of needs
  • Be able to work in partnership with outside agencies to meet pupils’ needs
  • Possess knowledge and practical experience of effective behaviour management strategies to manage challenging behaviour
  • Ideally have experience working in a special school setting
  • Be familiar with effective assessment and target-setting for pupils with learning difficulties
  • Hold current training in Team Teach, positive handling, or safer handling skills
In Return, We Offer
  • Personalised Continuing Professional Learning tailored to your development
  • Opportunities to collaborate with experts from a range of disciplines
  • The chance to work beyond the school with wider networks
  • Supportive colleagues, governors, and parents
  • Staff workwear
  • A comprehensive staff wellbeing package, including the option to take PPA off-site, an employee assistance programme, a salary sacrifice scheme, access to our hydrotherapy pool, free tea and coffee, and free staff parking

Interview date: Wednesday 24th September

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS.

Following recommendations from Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) for an additional pre employment check with effect 1 Sept 22, please note, an online search may form part of this recruitment process.
