HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver - Work for the Council! | Immediate Start | Worksop. Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our local council client for an experienced HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver to join their dedicated team in Worksop. If you're a reliable driver who takes pride in keeping communities clean and safe, this is a fantastic opportunity to secure steady, rewarding work with great hours and long-term potential.

Responsibilities

• Collect and load refuse and recycling bins across Worksop and surrounding areas.
• Safely operate a Class 2 refuse vehicle in accordance with all road and safety regulations.
• Work collaboratively with your crew to complete routes efficiently.
• Follow all Health & Safety protocols while driving and during manual work.
• Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with residents and local businesses.
• Act as a Refuse Loader when required to assist with waste and recycling collection.

What We’re Looking For

• A valid Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence
• Up-to-date CPC and tachograph card
• A team-player with a flexible attitude — happy to alternate between driving and loading
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Previous refuse collection or manual labour experience is a bonus, but not essential
