Job summary

Driver Hire Edinburgh City is seeking experienced Class 2 drivers for ad hoc holiday, sickness, and peak-period cover in Edinburgh and surrounding areas. You will deliver home improvement products to residential customers, often with a Driver's Mate to assist, and must maintain high safety and driving standards.

Rates are PAYE with frequent weekly pay and opportunities for regular work during busy periods. A valid Class 2 licence, CPC, and tachograph card are essential, along with a

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Class 2 (Category C) licence for a minimum of 24 months.
• Continuous commercial driving experience throughout that period.
• No more than one employment/driving gap of up to 3 months within the last 24 months.
• No driving/employment gaps within the last 6 months.
• Hold a valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Be comfortable with heavy lifting and physically demanding work.
• Maintain a professional and customer-focused attitude.

We are currently recruiting experienced Class 2 (Category C) Drivers to provide ad hoc holiday, sickness and peak-period cover for a leading home delivery and retail logistics operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for professional drivers looking for flexible work with a well-established national transport provider.

The Role

As a Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of home improvement products to residential customers. You will be accompanied by a Driver's Mate to assist with deliveries; however, the role involves a significant amount of heavy lifting and manual handling.

Essential Requirements

To be considered, applicants must:

Pay Rates

PAYE

• £15.95 per hour - Basic Rate
• £23.93 per hour - After 8 hours & Saturdays
• £31.91 per hour - Sundays & Bank Holidays

PAYE Advanced

• £17.88 per hour - Basic Rate
• £26.81 per hour - After 8 hours & Saturdays
• £35.76 per hour - Sundays & Bank Holidays
