Job summary

Booker Group is seeking a delivery driver for a locally focused role in the York area. You will be part of a busy delivery team, loading at the branch and delivering to customers, ensuring on-time arrivals and high-quality service.

The position entails 38 hours per week on a permanent contract, with some weekend shifts in a 7-day operation. A CatC / 18T licence and prior driving experience are essential.

Qualifications

• CatC / 18T Licence / Class 2 required.
• Previous driving experience is required.
• Delivery driving experience preferred.
• Ability to carry out manual deliveries.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive customer service attitude.
• Good literacy and numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Load stock into the vehicle at the Branch and unload at customer premises.
• Ensure paperwork is completed accurately.
• Drive locally to deliver to regular customers and build relationships.

Do you want more local driving and be a valued member of a delivery team? This may be the role for you. You will enjoy a varied role driving locally as well as building relationships with our regular customers.

Our drivers are the beating heart of our business and you will play a vital role in ensuring customers receive their deliveries on time and with a great service.

This is a 7 day operation, our shift patternsmay include some weekend working.

Main Responsibilities

Making sure our customers are able to keep their shelves full with the products needed by their customers. You’ll be loading stock in to the vehicle at the Branch and unloading at the customer premises. You’ll also need to ensure the paperwork is completed accurately.

You will need

CatC / 18T Licence / Class 2

Previous experience of driving (at least two years)

Previous experience of delivery driving is preferred

Ability to carry out manual deliveries

Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive customer service attitude

Good level of literacy and numeracy
