Position Overview

Class 1 Shunter Driver

Location: Ferrybridge

Shifts: Monday - Friday on a rotation basis, 06:30-14:30 Monday to Thursday and 05:45-13:45 on a Friday. Afternoon shift is 14:30-22.30 Monday - Thursday, Friday 13:45-20.30.

Pay Rate: £15.95

Do you have a Class 1 licence? Are you an experienced Shunter? Are you looking for a full-time job? We are currently recruiting for a full time, temp to perm HGV Class 1 Shunter at our site in Ferrybridge.

Our client is a third‑party provider of transportation and logistics services that offers a range of services from Drayage, Global freight forwarding & Full truckload transport. The company is committed to environmental sustainability and works with customers to create action plans to reduce emissions.

What you'll do on a typical day
  • Duties will be to move trailers around the site ensuring they are in the right place at the right time, assist in load strapping and securing where necessary.
  • Play a key role in our site team ensuing our operation runs as smoothly as possible; team player is a must.
  • Ensure you are operating in line with health and safety standards and following site rules
What you need to succeed
  • Experience in a similar driving/shunting role is highly desired
  • A Full UK driving licence (with C&E entitlement), held for a minimum of 12 months
  • No more than 6 points on your licence, with no DD or DR endorsements.
  • Flexibility with working both days and afternoons to cover would be advantageous.
