Job summary

Royal Mail Group is recruiting Class 1 LGV drivers for a permanent role at Chelmsford VOC, CM2 5AA. The 36 hours 15 minutes per week on a 24/7 rota and potential part-time roles offer flexibility, with night, weekend, and bank holiday shifts.

As a valued driver, you will collect and transport mail, drive fixed routes, and ensure secure delivery on schedule, using modern technology to aid your tasks. A UK Class 1 licence with limited points is required.

Qualifications

• Valid UK manual C&E licence: Large Goods Vehicle Class 1 with no more than 6 penalty points and no TT99 endorsement.
• Self-motivated to work unsupervised for long periods.
• Organised and punctual with initiative and ability to meet tight timelines.
• Flexible to service demands and able to support the team when required.
• Community spirited and committed to keeping the UK connected.

Responsibilities

• Collecting and transporting mail from different sites and moving it to the next stage of the delivery process.
• Working independently, driving fixed routes across the UK.
• Loading and unloading the vehicle, delivering to schedule, and maintaining security of loaded items.
• Using the latest technology to support the role with autonomy to complete the job efficiently.

Are you an LGV-licenced driver looking for a role that allows you to be on the road, without the burden of overnight stays and multi-drop routes?

We’re recruiting Class 1 Large Goods Vehicle Drivers on permanent contracts, working flexible shifts across our 24-hour operation based at Chelmsford VOC, Chelmsford, CM2 5AA.

Working 36 hours & 15 mins per week on a 24/7 shift rota, There may also be part time roles available.

The role requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts on a rotational basis including a requirement for night driving, weekends and bank holiday working.

A Bit About You

• Self-motivated: you’ll be comfortable working unsupervised for long periods
• Organised and punctual: you’ll demonstrate great initiative and work well within tight timelines
• Flexible to service demands: comfortable working a variety of shifts. You’re willing to support your team when required.
