Job summary

Evans Transport, Ltd. is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 driver to join our brick and block haulage team. You will travel around the country delivering customer goods in a safe, professional manner from Caldicot or Bideford depots.

This role includes nights out and the use of Artic or Lorry and Drag type vehicles. You will perform daily vehicle checks, comply with tachograph regulations, and ensure PODs are captured accurately while working within driving time rules.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence in date with CPC and digital tachograph.
• Sound geographical knowledge of UK and ability to use a road atlas.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Reasonable level of fitness, presentable with a good attitude.

Responsibilities

• Deliver customer goods in a professional and friendly manner.
• Take the most direct truck-friendly routes when possible.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness.
• Comply with tachograph and working time directive laws.
• Capture PODs accurately for every delivery.
• Work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Report issues promptly to management.
