Job summary

Driver Hire Manchester is seeking an experienced Class 1 HGV driver to join our transport operation based in Burscough (L40). The role covers trunking and general haulage with early starts and routes that can include long-distance runs as far as Scotland.

You will be responsible for timely deliveries, accurate paperwork, and vehicle checks, with a focus on safety and professionalism. Weekly pay, competitive rates, and dedicated local support are provided by our team.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) Licence required.
• CPC and Digital Tachograph Card required.
• Previous Class 1 driving experience preferred.
• Good understanding of drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations.
• Maximum 6 penalty points (minor offences only).
• Reliable and professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Class 1 trunking and general haulage work.
• Primarily drop and swap deliveries.
• Routes can include long-distance runs as far as Scotland.
• Early morning start times.
• No handballing required.
• Complete paperwork and vehicle checks accurately.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism and road safety.
