Job summary

JT Recruit Ltd is seeking reliable Class 1 HGV Drivers for ongoing work based in Foston, Derbyshire. This role offers regular shifts, early starts around 06:00, and the chance to join an established logistics operation.

As a Class 1 driver you will deliver and collect loads, perform daily vehicle checks, and ensure paperwork is accurate. You will need a proven Class 1 licence and a solid understanding of drivers’ hours rules and road transport legislation.

Qualifications

• Previous Class 1 HGV driving experience.
• A good understanding of drivers’ hours rules and road transport legislation.
• A safe, responsible and professional approach to driving.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow delivery instructions.
• A reliable approach to attendance, timekeeping and vehicle safety.

Responsibilities

• Driving Class 1 articulated vehicles safely and professionally.
• Completing deliveries and collections according to the planned schedule.
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects.
• Ensuring loads are secure and all relevant paperwork is completed accurately.
• Following road safety regulations, drivers’ hours rules and working time regulations.
• Maintaining high standards of customer service and professionalism.
• Communicating effectively with transport planners, the depot and customers.
• Ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and on time.
