Job summary

A well established logistics operator in Rochester is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will transport stock between sites and deliver products to customers using articulated vehicles, undertaking multi-drop runs and trunking.

The role involves loading and unloading, completing load checks and paperwork, and ensuring tachograph rules and transport regulations are followed. A flexible approach to rotating shifts and good teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a full Class 1 (C+E) licence and up-to-date Digi Tachograph knowledge.
• Experience in loading, securing and unloading goods.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills, with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Complete load checks and paperwork.
• Carry out daily vehicle and trailer checks.
• Perform multi-drop deliveries and trunking.
• Safely couple and uncouple trailers.
• Supervise loading and securing of products.
• Liaise with Transport Controller to meet customer requirements.
• Deliver goods safely while complying with road traffic laws.
• Obtain customer signatures at delivery and handle queries.
• Maintain driving hours records and tachograph compliance.
• Keep vehicle and cab clean and well-maintained.
• Report accidents promptly and follow procedures.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and company standards.
• Undertake manual handling as required.
