Job summary

Great Bear is hiring Class 1 Drivers to operate from its Lutterworth site on a full-time, permanent basis. The role involves deliveries to customer premises, adherence to tachograph rules and health and safety procedures, and working a 4-on/4-off day shift.

The ideal candidate will hold an LGV Class C+E Licence with CPC and a valid Tacho card, plus at least 6 months’ Class 1 experience and strong attention to detail. Excellent communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience of Class 1 is essential.
• Possession of LGV Class C+E Licence, CPC and valid Tacho card.
• Excellent attention to detail.

• Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers' hours

Responsibilities

• Report to the Transport Coordinator at the start of shift.
• Ensure correct and thorough completion of paperwork.
• Observe and adhere to company rules, health, safety and hygiene.
• Maintain knowledge of transport department operations.
• Manage own working time per Road Transport Directive.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and tachograph compliance.
• Make deliveries to customers' premises and obtain PODs.
• Communicate with Transport Office / Customer Services.
• Adhere to site procedures at delivery points.
• Raise defect reports when required and monitor fuel efficiency targets.
