Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd are recruiting on behalf of a client in the Carlisle area to hire experienced HGV Class 1 Tramper Drivers (C+E). Shifts run across Monday to Sunday with full-time or part-time options.

Hours are Afters/Nights with start times between 13:00 and 21:30; pay rates include weekly pay and overtime. Location is Carlisle (CA6) with an ongoing contract and independent site inductions. Apply for immediate consideration.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (C+E).
• DCPC and Digital Tachograph card valid and up to date.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Able to travel to local site for tacho card download prior to shortlisting.

Responsibilities

• Execute depot pull and trailer handling at the depot.
• Transport trailers to hubs and back to depot, with customer handovers.
• Assist with loading/unloading at customer sites and depot.
• Perform drop and swap operations, including tail lift and occasional uncoupling.

Job description

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Carlisle area. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Tramper Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.

Shifts: Shifts run across Monday to Sunday (full time or part time available)

Hours : Afters/ Nights (Flexibility for start times required between 13:00pm - 21:30pm)

Pay Rate:

• Midweek - £18.15 per hour rising to £19.15 after 12 weeks
• Midweek overtime (after 8 hours) - £25.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks
• Saturday - £23.52 per hour rising to £24.52 after 12 weeks
• Saturday overtime (after 8 hours) - £25.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks
• Sunday - £26.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks
• Bank Holidays - £34.42 per hour rising to £35.42 after 12 weeks
• Other Payments - £25 night out allowance / Mileage expenses dependent on travel

The role:

• Execute depot pull, filling the back of a trailer at the depot and transporting it to a hub.
• Engage in customer work, taking the vehicle to a customer to collect a trailer, delivering it to a hub, and returning to the depot.
• Assist with loading and unloading at customer sites and in the depot.
• Perform drop and swap operations, sometimes using a tail lift, and occasionally doing trailer swaps requiring uncoupling the vehicle.
• Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries.
• Travel to local sites for a one-off download of the tacho card prior to being put forward for the position.
• Attend an on-site induction for the first shift.

Requirements:

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
• Have at least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Less than 12 infringement points in any one month and no infringement points for three consecutive months.
• Flexibility to work shifts across Monday to Sunday with start times from 12 pm - 9 pm (all paid at night rate).
• Ability to travel to local site for tacho card download prior to being put forward.
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A safety-first mindset.
