Job summary

Barrett Steel at Scunthorpe is seeking a Class 1 Driver/Tramper to join our logistics team. The role involves multi-drop driving, unloading at customer premises, and maintaining delivery documentation. You will work 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with overtime and nights away as required.

Applicants must hold a valid HGV1 licence with up to 6 points, a Driver CPC, and a Digital Tachograph card. Willingness to stay away when requested is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 Licence with up to 6 points.
• Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph card.
• Knowledge of Working Time Directive.
• Experience in warehousing or distribution, ideally multi-drop.
• Understanding and experience of EHS requirements.
• Willingness to stay away as required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe unloading of vehicles at customer premises.
• Operate mobile equipment to load/unload when trained.
• Ensure Proofs of Delivery are signed and returned promptly.
• Check load security and weight distribution at start/end of shifts.
• Maintain vehicles to company standards; report defects.
• Update documentation related to carriage of products and communicate issues.
