Job summary

Recruit A Driver is seeking a Class 1 (C+E) HGV Driver for day shifts in Leeds. Immediate starts with Monday to Friday work and no manual handling required. Typical start times are around 06:00, with regular daytime driving and ongoing assignments.

You will move containers, swap boxes, and perform trailer prep while maintaining high safety and paperwork standards. This role emphasizes reliability, professional conduct, and adherence to Driver Hours regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) licence held for at least 2 years.
• Recent Class 1 driving experience.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification card.
• Valid digital tachograph card.
• Container experience preferred.
• Maximum 6 penalty points.
• No DD, DR or TT endorsements; other endorsement codes may be considered.
• Must be aged 25 or over for insurance purposes.
• Reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach.
• Container experience is preferred rather than essential, making this an opportunity worth considering if you have suitable Class 1 experience but have not previously driven containers.

Responsibilities

• Completing container movements and box swaps
• Preparing trailers and containers for ongoing operations
• Carrying out occasional trunking or low multi-drop work
• Completing daily vehicle safety checks and reporting defects
• Ensuring transport paperwork is completed accurately
• Maintaining high standards of vehicle care and road safety
• Complying with Driver Hours and Working Time Regulations
