Job description

Class 1 Driver - Rates of Pay

Monday - Friday - £21.29 per hour inclusive of holiday pay (PAYE only).

Class 1 Driver - Shifts and Hours

Monday to Friday - no weekends.

Start times: 22:00pm-02:00am - 8-10 hours per day.

Location

Coventry (CV8). Commutable from Coventry, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Stratford‑upon‑Avon, Rugby, Banbury, Southam, Kenilworth, Southeast Birmingham, Daventry, Crick and surrounding areas.

Out client provides domestic and international deliveries for high‑volume business customers. This position is a temporary contract, offering ongoing work 12 months per year for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

1. Load / unload freight and secure loads.
2. Complete scheduled deliveries and collections (varied parcel weights).
3. Ensure accurate completion of documentation.
4. Perform vehicle checks and report defects.
5. Work efficiently to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence + Driver CPC & DIGI Cards.
• Minimum 6 months Class 1 licence + 6 months Class 1 driving experience.
• Max 6 SP penalty points accepted (no other endorsements).
• Over 21 years of age for insurance purposes.
• Flexible and remain calm under pressure.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, attention to detail.
• 2 years of work / education history.
