Job summary

XPO is seeking flexible Class 1 HGV Drivers for a permanent role at our Sherburn in Elmet site. You will work a Monday to Friday day shift on the British Gypsum contract, with weekend overtime available and paid on a PAYE basis.

The job involves direct deliveries, driving new equipment and trailers, and working in a safety-focused, FORS-compliant environment. A valid UK licence (C&E), CPC, a clean test history, and strong knowledge of UK roads are required.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with C+E entitlement.
• No more than six penalty points on licence.
• A valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• Excellent knowledge of the UK road network.

Responsibilities

• Make deliveries to British Gypsum customers.
• Drive new vehicles and pull new trailers.
• Work in a FORS compliant, safety-driven environment.
• No manual handling; loads tipped by clients.

Job description

Are you an HGV driver fed up with not knowing when you’re working next? We’re looking for flexible Class 1 HGV Drivers to join us at our site in Sherburn in Elmet, on a permanent contract.

You’ll be supporting our British Gypsum contract on a Monday to Friday shift pattern, working day shift. The roles are direct deliveries and not multi-drop. Weekend overtime is also available, In return for your hard work, we’ll offer you a competitive hourly rate of £17.05 for days, with the opportunity to work extra shifts on top! The role is PAYE.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Making deliveries to British Gypsum customers
• You will be driving new equipment and pulling new trailers
• Our sites are Gold Standard FORS compliant and you will be working in an environment that is highly safety driven
• No manual handling, all loads tipped by clients

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• We’ll need you to have a full UK driving licence (with C+Eentitlement),
• You’ll have no more than six penalty points on your licence and no DD, DR, IN, or CD endorsements.
• A valid CPC and Digital Tacho card
• Excellent knowledge of the UK road network
