Job summary

Global Ardour Recycling is seeking a Class 1 Car Transporter Driver to join our Bristol Transport department. The role is full-time (48 hours per week, Monday to Friday) and requires a clean HGV Class 1 licence, Driver CPC, and Digital Tachograph card.

You will liaise with customers for vehicle collections and perform daily vehicle checks. The role emphasizes safety, professionalism, and delivering excellent customer service in a busy transport function.

Qualifications

• You must hold a clean driving licence and Driver CPC, plus a Digital Tachograph card or be in the process of obtaining them.
• You should be able to work well in a team or independently, with a professional approach to customers.
• Experience as a driver is preferred; holds a full HGV Class 1 licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Drive a 7/8 car slide car transporter and liaise with customers to arrange vehicle collections.
• Adhere to driver hours and Working Time Directive regulations and use tachographs correctly.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and defect reports as directed by Transport Managers.
• Observe all driving laws, health and safety requirements, and maintain a tidy, professional appearance.
• Deliver excellent customer service and report any load or vehicle damage per procedures.

The role:

We’re looking for an experienced Class 1 Car Transporter Driver to join our Transport department based out of our site in Bristol.

Key responsibilities:

• Driving an 7/8 car slide car transporter
• Liaising with customers to arrange vehicle collections
• Understand and abide by driver’s hours and working time directive regulations.
• Use of Tachographs, digital and analogue.
• Complete daily vehicle check sheets and defect reports as directed by the Transport Managers.
• Observe all relevant driving laws and regulations.
• Always provide good customer service (via telephone or face to face).
• Observe all health and safety requirements as directed.
• Always maintain tidiness and cleanliness as directed.
• Any other duties as directed by the Transport Managers.
• Report all load damage to vehicles or property in-line with Company procedures.
• Carry out vehicle damage appraisals to a high level of accuracy at all times.

The ideal candidate:

• You must have; Clean driving licence, Driver CPC (or in the process of obtaining) a Digital Tacho card
• The ability to work both as part of a team and by yourself.
• Customer facing so a professional approach to both the job and customers is essential.
• Strong work ethic.
• Hold a full HGV C&E (Class 1 ) licence.
• Are an experienced and professional driver
• Experience of car transporters preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work in a complex, fast paced transport function.
• Interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to overcome problems.
• Experience of working to deadlines with quality output.
• Smart & professional appearance.
• Proven experience of delivering exceptional service to customers.
