Job summary

Biffa is recruiting a Class 1 ADR Driver for tanker movements based in the United Kingdom. The role involves early starts, 45-hour weeks with overtime when required, and enhanced rates for weekends and bank holidays.

Nights out in the cab may be required depending on business needs. Responsibilities include safe driving, routing checks, timely paperwork, and delivering high levels of customer service while complying with health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Hold a Class 1 licence (2 years experience preferred).
• Driver DCPC to be current.
• ADR qualified for Tanker movements (all classes except Nuclear & Explosives).
• Ability to safely manoeuvre LGVs into restricted and confined spaces.
• Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills.
• Willing to stay away from home regularly; nighting out in cab where possible.
• Excellent customer service skills and a proactive approach.
• Strong communication with management and customers.

Responsibilities

• Professionally driving and operating vehicles as directed by traffic office and managers.
• Adhering to processes and health and safety procedures at all times.
• Completing routing vehicle checks and reporting defects.
• Completing daily time sheets accurately and timely.
• Providing breakdown and absence cover for colleagues when needed.
• Attending training, mode meetings and toolbox talks as required.
• Maintaining good relationships with internal/external customers and providing high levels of service.
• Carrying out other reasonable job-related tasks.
