Looking for a role that will have a meaningful impact in Claims?

The opportunity:

This is an opportunity to be a Claims Technician within the Professional Indemnity team.

The claims team works collaboratively alongside the underwriting function in order to facilitate close communication and exchange of ideas.

The Professional Indemnity claims team handles claims for the Professional Indemnity underwriting team within Wholesale Claims. This includes UK and international claims against professionals such as solicitors, insurance brokers, actuaries, patent agents, construction professionals and other financial services professionals.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Support the team to manage claims, including third party agreements (TPA) and service providers in line with the MINT claims philosophy, reserving philosophy, Markel Style and Claims Handling Manual.
  • Assist the team meet their Key Performance Indicators.
  • Handle some smaller value claims in line with the MINT claims philosophy, reserving philosophy, Markel Style and Claims Handling Manual.
  • Support the Claims Managers and other senior leaders in the development and implementation of the Claims Business Plan and strategy of MINT.
  • Be collaborative in your approach by sharing any improvements with the other team members or claims teams.
  • Maintain good working relationships with the underwriting team, Actuarial team and Outwards Reinsurance Team.
  • Drive team broker interaction to deliver a more customer focused and value adding service, including supporting an organised broker interaction program on an annual basis.
