We are thrilled to announce a major contract win with Yorkshire Water, supporting them in proactively and reactively maintaining their Wastewater Network for the next five years and beyond. We are currently recruiting for Site Supervisors to join our team, delivering exceptional customer service and innovative operational solutions across Yorkshire. Responsibilities
- Be responsible for leading operational teams within a defined catchment, ensuring seamless end-to-end management of all works while delivering an exceptional customer journey.
- Ensure everyone within your team is performing their responsibilities.
- Carry out site inspections, coordinate the crews from your depot, manage fleet issues and evaluate employee performance.
- Work with the Senior Management Team, Client and Local Authority to agree extent of works and maintain relationships throughout.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing any concerns or requests promptly and professionally.
- Encourage and enable personal development.
- Work closely with planning and scheduling teams to ensure effective resource allocation, job prioritisation, and workforce coordination.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of Lanes Group and its customers.
- Lead and control Civils Operatives and Gangers engaged in all activities concerned with the civil works aspects of the contract; optimise resources with the scheduling team.
- Manage the teams fleet/plant and material requirements to ensure efficient and timely completion of the works; follow policies, procedures, and work practices and develop improvements where necessary.
- Produce method statements and procedures; read and understand specifications, drawings, and all other discipline-related engineering documentation; keep records of all work completed; ensure client systems are updating in real time.
- Command respect of the workforce and develop excellent working relationships with other department personnel and client management.
- Communicate confidently to liaise with internal and external clients.
- Give instructions in an efficient and effective way to the workforce and manage the day-to-day operations of the teams.
- Read and interpret drawings, including excavation dimensions, pipe and rebar angles, concrete mixtures, location and placement of pipe sections, and understand shoring designs.
- Ensure work crews are properly supplied with tools, equipment, and materials; prevent wastage and misuse of equipment, materials, and tools; supervise to best utilise manpower and materials; enforce discipline at the work site to prevent absenteeism, unsafe practices, and idleness.
- Familiar with all HS&E and Quality procedures and strictly enforce them with the workforce under responsibility.
- Identify, formulate, and implement training programs for the workforce and manage day-to-day wellbeing of the teams.
- Comply with the highest level of safety during all stages of work to avoid incidents and accidents.
Qualifications
- Possess previous experience of supervision within the Waste Water Industry.
- Hold a full UK driving license.

- Proven experience in a previous Supervisor Role within the Utilities Sector – preferably in the Drainage Industry.
