Overview

Job Title: Project Manager - Infrastructure Civil Engineering


Location: Southern Region (Various Sites Across the South of England)


Company: Leading Civil Engineering Contractor


Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent


Reports To: Contracts Manager / Regional Manager

We are a well-established and reputable civil engineering contractor delivering a range of infrastructure schemes across the South of England. With a strong emphasis on collaboration, quality, and safety, we work across both public and private sectors to deliver highways, drainage, utility, and general civil engineering projects.



Role Overview

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure civil engineering schemes. You will lead site teams, manage resources, ensure health & safety compliance, and liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.



Key Responsibilities


  • Manage and deliver infrastructure projects including highways, drainage, utilities, and public realm works.

  • Take full ownership of project planning, programming, cost control, and risk management.

  • Ensure full compliance with CDM Regulations, Health & Safety legislation, and internal procedures.

  • Lead and support site teams including Site Managers, Engineers, and Operatives.

  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, design teams, and subcontractors to maintain strong working relationships.

  • Maintain accurate site records, forecasts, and project reporting to senior management.

  • Drive performance and ensure works are delivered to specification, on time and within budget.

  • Monitor subcontractor performance and implement corrective actions where required.

  • Promote a positive safety culture and environmental best practices on site.



Requirements

Essential:



  • Proven track record in delivering civil engineering and infrastructure schemes for a contractor.

  • Strong understanding of highways, drainage, utilities, and general groundworks.

  • Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.

  • Experience managing site teams and multiple stakeholders.

  • SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications.

  • Full UK Driving Licence.


Desirable:



  • HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

  • Familiarity with NEC or other standard forms of contract.

  • Temporary Works Coordinator or Appointed Person qualifications.
