Randstad CPE is sourcing a Freelance Civils Project Manager for HS2 Phase 1 delivery in the Solihull/Kenilworth corridor. You will lead site operations, manage NEC4 contract administration, and work with Tier-1 partners and authorities to ensure safety and quality across road realignments, drainage, and pumping stations.

The role requires proven freelance PM experience on major UK civil projects and strong NEC4 expertise; CSCS Black Card, SMSTS, and a full UK driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven freelance PM experience on major UK civil engineering/infrastructure projects.
• Hands-on experience delivering highways/roadworks, trackbed drainage, and deep RC water structures.
• Strong practical knowledge of NEC4 contract conditions.

Responsabilités

• Manage day-to-day site operations for roads/highways, deep trace drainage, and RC wet infrastructure/pumping stations.
• Act as primary site liaison with Tier-1 JV partners (BBV / HS2 Ltd) and local authorities.
• Administer NEC4 contract conditions (CEs, Early Warnings, EWNs) with the commercial team.
• Enforce HS2 Target Zero safety policies, environmental compliance (dewatering/silt management), and QA/ITP sign-offs.

Freelance Civils Project Manager (HS2)

Location: Solihull / Kenilworth Corridor

Contract Type: Freelance (6-12 Month Initial Contract)

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

The Role

My principal contractor client requires an experienced Freelance Civils Project Manager to drive operational delivery across key infrastructure packages on HS2 Phase 1 (Sub-lot 2B / Area North).

You will lead site operations and contract administration for road realignments, trace/trackbed drainage, and reinforced concrete pumping stations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations for roads/highways, deep trace drainage, and RC wet infrastructure/pumping stations.
• Act as primary site liaison with Tier-1 JV partners (BBV / HS2 Ltd) and local authorities.
• Administer NEC4 contract conditions (CEs, Early Warnings, EWNs) alongside the commercial team.
• Enforce HS2 Target Zero safety policies, environmental compliance (dewatering/silt management), and QA/ITP sign-offs.

• Hands-on experience delivering highways/roadworks, trackbed drainage, and deep RC water structures.
• Strong practical knowledge of NEC4
