Job summary

A leading civil engineering contractor in the UK is seeking an experienced Civils Project Manager to oversee civils works on large infrastructure projects including drainage and earthworks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, possess SMSTS and CSCS certifications, and have excellent leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Civils Project Manager.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering construction practices.
  • SMSTS certification required.
  • Valid CSCS card essential.
  • First Aid qualification desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Overview

My client is a leading civil engineering contractor with a strong track record in delivering complex infrastructure projects across the UK. They are seeking an experienced Civils Project Manager to oversee the civils works on a Large Infrastructure scheme, comprising drainage, earthworks and associated civils works.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all civils site activities, including drainage and associated infrastructure.
  • Manage site teams and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety procedures, and timelines.
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, and resources to ensure smooth progress.
  • Liaise with project managers, design teams, and client representatives.
  • Maintain accurate site records, reporting on progress, delays, and variations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and toolbox talks to ensure Health & Safety compliance.
  • Ensure quality control measures are in place and adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Civils Project Manager
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering construction practices and procedures.
  • SMSTS certification (essential).
  • Valid CSCS card (essential).
  • First Aid qualification (desirable).
  • Ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors effectively.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • IT Literate
