Job summary

Stellar Drainage Environmental Services is hiring a Civils Excavation Operator to join the Fresh Water Digging Team in Glasgow and on various sites. You will perform excavation works to repair water supply pipes for Scottish Water and local councils.

The role requires a drivers licence, CSCS card, and safety certifications, with occasional evenings/weekends and travel as needed. A pension plan is offered along with uniform PPE and company device usage for daily reporting.

Qualifications

• Proven understanding of safe working practices and safety standards.
• Willingness to work on a rota including evenings and weekends.
• Must wear PPE, carry company equipment, and complete required paperwork.
• Experience interpreting drawings and specifications for excavation works.

Responsibilities

• Excavate and repair fresh water supply pipes on site.
• Carry out pipe repairs and back fill/reinstatement to a high standard.
• Interpret drawings/specifications and complete daily paperwork (job sheets, risk assessments, plant sheets).
• Coordinate with client representatives and travel to sites as required.

Location: Glasgow (Operator will be on various sites)

Join our team at Stellar Drainage Environmental Services as part of a Fresh Water Digging Team. We are a reputable company known for providing high-quality property repairs within the drainage & water sector.

As the ideal candidate will have:

• You will have a good understanding of safe working practices.
• The position requires the applicant to be part of an out of hours on call rota which includes evenings and weekends.
• Wearing of full uniform PPE, vehicle and mobile phone will be supplied
• Cat scanning
• Excavation works to repair fresh water supply pipes for Scottish Water and local council authorities
• Pipe repairs
• Back fill and reinstatement to a high standard
• Following all health and safety procedures
• Ensure compliance with all current client processes and procedures.
• Using company provided device iPad / Tablet / phone and completion of appropriate paperwork for daily works (job sheets / risk assessments / plant sheets / driver checks).
• Interpreting the use of drawings and specifications

The candidate should have the relevant experience as well as:

• Drivers licence
• CSCS Card
• Confined Space certification
• DOMS and Water Hygiene certification
• General Health & Safety training
• Manual Handling
• Asbestos Awareness
• Abrasive Wheels (or equivalent safety certifications)

This role will involve communication with representatives of our client therefore good communication skills are a must.

The role requires some flexibility with regard to working hours, including the need to work some evenings and the occasional weekend, together with the need to occasionally travel outside of the Glasgow & Surrounding areas.
