Job description

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a leading and privately owned construction company who are currently looking for a Civil Estimator with Highways experience to join their brand new division and lead the estimating team in the Waterlooville area.

The salary is up to £65,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus a Company Car/Car Allowance and a Fantastic Benefits Package.

You will be reporting directly to the Divisional Manager.

This is exciting new opportunity for an Estimator to join and grow with a division for an existing large civils business!

Key Responsibilities

• Providing comprehensive estimating service controlling either an assigned project and/or a portfolio projects
• Prepare tender estimates from first principles using conquest estimating software, drawing on previous experience and knowledge of techniques, outputs, sub-contractor quotations and material prices unique to each tender.
• Identifying potential risks from initial analyzing of project documentation
• Lead and take part in pre-tender discussions/sign off with senior colleagues
• Carrying out site visits that are required for the tender to ascertain site specific complexities, access requirements etc
• Proactively lead and take part in discussions and negotiation with suppliers and sub-contractors during the tender process
• Keeping up to date knowledge of inflation, exchange rates and projected timescale costs
• Obtain feedback from site teams on estimating adequacy and current costs
• Lead and take part in handover meetings with contract and commercial colleagues to ensure all elements of the tender process and procedures are handed over and project complexities are fully understood by all parties prior to signing of contract

Key Skills & Experience

• 3 year's experience working as a Civils Estimator in Highways & Construction
• Experience and knowledge of building and highways regulations
• Have a good knowledge and understanding of the civils aspect of the role
• Qualified to degree level or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering
• CSCS Card
• Full UK Driving License
• Right to work in the UK
