Job summary

Matchtech is seeking Civil & Structural Engineers ranging from Engineer to Lead Engineer to support a major UK SMR programme. You will work on Reactor Island, Turbine Island, Balance of Site and Cooling Water systems, designing and assessing reinforced concrete, steel and civil structures.

Chartered status is desirable; candidates pursuing Chartership will be considered. British citizenship with SC clearance is required and sponsorships cannot be offered. On-site roles in the UK are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in nuclear, energy, defence, rail, power generation or major infrastructure projects.
• Chartered status desirable; candidates working towards Chartership will be considered.

Engineer to Lead Engineer Level

Our client is seeking Civil & Structural Engineers ranging from Engineer through to Lead Engineer level to support a major UK Small Modular Reactor (SMR) programme.

Working across key nuclear infrastructure packages including Reactor Island, Turbine Island, Balance of Site and Cooling Water systems, successful candidates will be involved in the design, assessment and delivery of complex reinforced concrete, steel and civil engineering structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete and steel structures
• Development of calculations, technical reports and design substantiation
• Assessment of structures under normal, environmental and extreme loading conditions
• Working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Supporting technical assurance and regulatory compliance activities
• Providing technical leadership and mentoring (Lead level)
