Whether you're working on decommissioning legacy sites, supporting new build projects, or enhancing power generation and defence infrastructure, your work will directly contribute to the protection and security of people and the planet.

Throughout your placement, you’ll work on live projects as part of a multidisciplinary team. Depending on your assigned project, typical activities you could find yourself involved in include:

  • 3D modelling and technical drawing
  • Structural design and assessment of concrete, steel and masonry structures
  • Civil design and assessment including pavements and drainage.
  • Supporting Construction (Design and Management) 2015 (CDM 2015) duties
  • Constructability assessments and temporary works
  • Seismic and dynamic structural analysis
  • Foundation and buried structures design
  • Structural inspections, surveys and assessment
  • Construction work inspection and surveillance.

You’ll work alongside supportive colleagues and gain guidance from experienced professionals every step of the way.

We value the fresh perspectives and innovative ideas that placement students bring to our team. We believe you have the potential to shape the future of our business. But we also understand that this placement is as much about you assessing what's right for you as it is about us getting to know you. Perform well, and you could be considered for a position on our graduate programme - your journey with Babcock could just be getting started.

What you’ll need
