Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Civil Site Supervisor for a major 400kV substation project on a National Grid site in Oxford area. You will oversee on-site civil construction, coordinating operatives and contractors to ensure safety and timely delivery.

Role requires SR163, PPE, and current safety certifications; interviews start immediately with a start date of 24th August 2026. On-site work with UK transmission infrastructure responsibilities.

Qualifications

Role: Civil Site Supervisor

Rate: £420/day CIS

Location: Cowley

Length of Contract: 24th August - 18th December 2026

Our client is looking for an experienced Civil Site Supervisor to join their team on a 400kV substation project. This is an excellent opportunity to support the safe and efficient delivery of civils works within a National Grid environment.

Job Role

As Civil Site Supervisor, you will oversee day‑to‑day civil construction activities on site, coordinating operatives and contractors while ensuring works are delivered safely and in accordance with project requirements. You will monitor site activities, maintain health and safety standards and work closely with the wider project team to ensure works remain on programme.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Civil Supervisor / General Foreman
• Previous civil engineering or infrastructure experience
• SR163 - Essential
• Manual Handling - Essential
• Previous experience working on a National Grid site is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of site health and safety requirements
• Ability to coordinate site teams and contractors effectively
• All relevant competency cards/tickets must be current
• Candidates must have the required PPE before attending site
