Job summary

The Joseph Gallagher Group is seeking a Site Engineer to join our civil engineering team in Middlesbrough. The role focuses on setting out works, checking drawings and quantities, and ensuring quality records meet client specifications.

You will provide engineering support, conduct pre-start surveys, and work closely with the Project Manager and installation teams to achieve on-time delivery while upholding high Health, Safety and Environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Experience on civils projects.
• Proven track record of setting out civil engineering works.
• Knowledge of construction methods, Health & Safety and regulations.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Excellent communication with site team and clients.
• Ability to work well in a team and troubleshoot issues.

Responsibilities

• Setting out detailed works as per contract drawings and performing regular checks.
• Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy.
• Ensuring quality control requirements are met and recorded per client spec.
• Providing engineering support to overcome technical problems.
• Conducting pre-start site surveys.
• Ensuring timely handover of works and quality records with no defects.
• Working with Project Manager and installation teams to maintain schedule.
• Promoting Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
• Carrying out site calibration checks.
• Assisting in resolving unexpected technical difficulties.
