Job summary

A civil engineering firm is seeking a candidate for a minor road job installing a new footway in Walsall. The position involves planning, programming, and ensuring health & safety compliance. Ideal applicants should have an engineering background, such as HNC / HND in Civil Engineering, with advantages for First Aid and Temporary Works coordination training. This is a short-term role expected to last 4 weeks, with the possibility of extension due to additional work related to a water main installation.

Qualifications

• Preferred engineering background HNC / HND Civil Engineering.
• First Aid: Full 3 Day Course (Advantage).
• Temporary Works Co-ordinator (Advantage).

Responsibilities

• Planning, programming and resourcing.
• Contract Budget and target programme - preparation and monitoring.
• Construction of the works to specified quality standards.
• Health & Safety and Environmental compliance and best practice.
• Compliance with contract particulars.
• Management of site staff, sub-contractors and operatives.
• Liaison with the Engineer’s Representative, Project Manager or Supervisor.
• Efficient utilisation and use of resources in carrying out your duties.
• Maintain comprehensive records and ensure all records are archived.
• Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
• Inspection, testing, commissioning and handover.
