Civil / Senior Civil Engineer - Infrastructure

Access talent group are currently searching for a Civil or Senior Civil Engineer for an office in Derby, midlands to work for an exciting new client. Our client is a SME with 3 offices all based in the midlands and are interested to strengthen their Development infrastructure team. The work on a range of schemes from Development, museums, large commercial shopping centres, river restoration to name a few. This consultancy have been operating since 1975 and have built a great reputation with new and existing clients across the UK. You will be aiming to work well with the exiting team or lead the engineers and graduates to develop them further in their careers with training and software development.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2:1 BSc/BEng in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 8 years post‑qualification experience in civil and structural engineering
  • Full UK driving license and own transport
  • Chartered or near‑chartered status with a relevant body (MICE or MIStruct)
Responsibilities
  • Providing high‑quality concept, preliminary and detailed technical design on projects requiring highway and drainage design.
  • Carrying out a range of drainage calculations, including QBar, attenuation storage, soakaway sizing, foul loads, pipeline capacities and network analysis for a range of drainage applications.
  • Carrying out a range of adoptable and non‑adoptable highway, driveway car‑parking and footpath structural pavement designs for a range of permeable and non‑permeable surfaces.
  • Preparing Developer Enquiries, Environment Agency product requests and LLFA information requests, relating to drainage designs, flood risk assessments and drainage strategies.
  • Preparing S104, S106 and S185 application forms and associated packages for submission to the Drainage Authority and Planning Authority.
  • Preparing S184, S278 and S38 application forms and associated packages for submission to the Highway Authority.Report writing, e.g. Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategy Reports etc.
  • Ensuring that projects are undertaken to the specified budget and timeframes.
  • Management of sustainability criteria
  • Complying with designers' duties under the CDM Regulations.
  • Supervising the CAD/Revit technicians and junior engineers on technical / construction details and undertaking QA reviews.
  • Selling, marketing and business development of existing clients and being alert to new leads.
  • Attractive salary dependent upon experience.
  • Annual profit share, dependent on profits, but averages at 2.5% of salary.
