Stantec is expanding its Water division in the UK, inviting seasoned civil engineers to contribute to a broad range of water and drainage projects across the South Region. You will engage in asset planning, concept through detailed design, and direct collaboration with contractors to deliver tangible infrastructure.

The role emphasizes sustainable, innovative solutions, mentoring of junior staff, and cross-location collaboration within the UK team.

Qualifications

• UK water industry design experience required.
• Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with Chartered/ Incorporated status preferred.
• Collaborative mentality with mentoring of junior engineers.
• Proven ability to develop innovative, sustainable design solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design across Water/Wastewater, networks, storm water, and sustainable urban drainage.
• Design & Build collaboration with contractor partners from concept to detailing.
• Oversee asset planning, strategy, and project scopes within the South Region.

Joining our teams in High Wycombe, Reading, or Cambridge (all prime locations just a short stroll from the train station), you will immerse yourself in the full project lifecycle.

• Diverse Pipeline: Tackle everything from asset planning and strategy to concept, outline, and detailed design.
• Design & Build: Collaborate directly with contractor partners on major D&B projects that move from the screen to the real world.
• Project Scope: Lead civil engineering design across Water/Wastewater treatment, networks, Storm Water overflows, and sustainable urban drainage.

About You

You are a passionate engineer who doesn’t just want to "do the math," but wants to solve the problem.

• Experienced: You bring a solid track record of design experience within the UK water industry.
• Qualified: You hold a degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and are ideally Chartered or Incorporated (ICE, CIWEM, or similar).
• Collaborative: You enjoy working alongside project leads and have a natural knack for mentoring developing engineers.
• Innovative: You’re ready to look past traditional methods to find sustainable, efficient solutions for our clients.
