Job summary

Advance TRS in East Sussex seeks a Civil Engineer with 3-6 years of experience to work on civil drainage and SuDS projects, blending engineering with landscape, green infrastructure and nature-based solutions.

You will contribute from initial site assessments and feasibility through to technical design, stakeholder coordination and practical delivery, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and building client relationships.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of civil/drainage experience required.
• Experience in SuDS and surface-water management.
• Ability to perform hydraulic calculations and drainage modelling.
• Site assessments and feasibility studies experience.
• Technical drawings and design coordination.
• Collaborative work with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Undertake civil engineering and surface-water drainage design including SuDS.
• Visit sites to assess conditions and opportunities for improvement.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and drainage modelling where appropriate.
• Assess drainage requirements, site levels, attenuation, flow controls and exceedance routes.
• Prepare and coordinate engineering designs, drawings, and calculations.
• Collaborate with landscape architects, environmental specialists, highways professionals and other design disciplines.
• Liaise with clients, developers, authorities, water companies and contractors.
• Coordinate surveys and external resources; manage project activities and budgets.
• Support proposals and client discussions; maintain ownership of requirements and outcomes.
