CIVIL ENGINEER

The Role

As a Civil Engineer, you will work within a collaborative team, taking responsibility for key aspects of projects while receiving guidance and support. You will contribute to feasibility, planning, and detailed design stages, gaining experience across a wide range of civil engineering work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-purchase feasibility studies and resolve planning conditions, including drainage and highways considerations
  • Prepare Flood Risk Assessments with support from the in-house flood modelling team
  • Produce detailed drawings and calculations for adoptable highways and drainage to Building Control, NHBC, S278, S38, and S104 standards
  • Prepare 3D ground models for volume calculations, cut and fill exercises, and vertical road profiles
  • Liaise with clients and external agencies including Environment Agency, Local Highway Authorities, and Water Authorities
  • Represent the consultancy at meetings, public exhibitions, planning committees, and public inquiries as required
  • Undertake site inspections and contribute to the delivery of high-quality projects
  • Work proactively towards chartership (ICE, IStructE, or equivalent)
About You
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Around 2 years of relevant consultancy experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design software
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Good understanding of civil engineering principles and current industry standards
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Enthusiasm for professional development and progression towards chartership
