I'm currently working with a growing, forward-thinking Civil & Structural Engineering consultancy based in Stoke-on-Trent, who are looking to bring in a capable and ambitious Civil Engineer – ideally someone with 2+ years’ experience. This is a brilliant opportunity to take ownership of projects and play a key role in the development of a civils team within a company that values innovation, collaboration, and autonomy.

The Role

As the Civil Engineer, you’ll be working across a variety of infrastructure and development schemes – taking projects from planning through to construction. This includes:

  • Designing drainage networks to S104 standards and liaising with local water authorities
  • Preparing SUDS strategies and Flood Risk Assessments
  • Designing residential roads to S38 and S278 standards
  • Modelling drainage systems using MicroDrainage or similar
  • Overseeing production and QA of technical drawings and engineering documentation
  • Liaising with planners, clients, and local authorities
  • Mentoring junior team members (if senior level)

This role offers genuine progression, with the chance to shape how the civils function grows within the consultancy.

What They're Looking For
  • HNC, BEng or similar in Civil Engineering
  • Strong technical understanding of UK drainage and highways design standards
  • Proficiency in MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
  • Previous consultancy experience (ideally in residential or commercial developments)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Good communicator and confident engaging with clients and authorities
Why This Role?
  • Flexible working hours (start and finish times)
  • Modern, close-knit and supportive team environment
  • Clear progression to lead roles as the civils team expands
  • Interesting and varied project work across the UK
