My client, an innovative, eco-conscious Multidisciplinary Consultancy is searching for a Civil Engineer with a focus on Flood Risk and Drainage to join their diverse team of engineering and design specialists, near the lively, richly-cultural city of Liverpool.

  • An Initial or Higher Degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, or similar relevant discipline
  • A specific interest in flood risk and drainage
  • Demonstrable experience of having worked in a design-based role within a consultancy
  • Experience of working with flood risk and drainage strategies, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs)
  • Good working knowledge of the relevant Section Agreements (including S38, S104, S106, etc.)
  • Competent in the use of Flood Modeller, InfoDrainage, and a range of similar software packages
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team

It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Civil Engineer to have the following:

  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills, particularly when applied to report writing
  • An analytical mindset
  • Strong technical skills

As a Civil Engineer, you will be joining a growing team of design consultants, working on a number of high-profile projects across the region. As you progress through your career, you will take on a range of exciting responsibilities, including the following:

  • Developing flood risk and drainage strategies for a diverse selection of projects
  • Working with the wider team to ensure project goals are delivered to the highest standard, within given timeframes and budgetary restrictions
  • Undertaking technical analysis using a range of software packages
  • Preparing and issuing accurate technical information regarding projects, including drawings, calculations, and models
  • Liaising with a range of stakeholders across the public and private sectors
  • Contributing to and carrying out site meetings and inspections
  • Developing and maintaining client and stakeholder relations
  • Contributing to projects, adhering to industry standards, designated budgets, and agreed timelines
