Civil Engineer - Poole (Full-Time, Permanent)

Are you a Civil Engineer ready to take on new challenges on the South Coast? This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected engineering consultancy delivering high-quality design and detailing services across residential, education, and commercial developments — from small bespoke projects to large, multi-million-pound schemes.

You'll work as part of a collaborative team of Senior Engineers, Engineers, and Technicians, contributing to technically varied projects across the UK.

Role Overview

You'll be involved in the design and coordination of civil engineering schemes including highways, drainage, earthworks, and associated infrastructure. The role offers exposure to every stage of the project lifecycle — from concept to detailed design — and regular interaction with clients, contractors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed civil engineering designs and supporting documentation
  • Produce drawings, calculations, models, and reports using recognised design software
  • Support project delivery by coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
  • Liaise directly with clients and external stakeholders to ensure project goals are met
  • Undertake site visits, surveys, and progress inspections when required
  • Maintain quality and compliance with relevant design standards and health & safety regulations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and best practice within the team
About You
  • Experience working in civil or infrastructure design
  • Competent user of AutoCAD and other relevant software packages
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable taking responsibility for your work
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of design principles for highways, drainage, utilities, and flood risk
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations
