A leading civil engineering contractor in the UK seeks a Civil Design Technical Lead. You will own the civil and structural design for water and wastewater treatment projects, manage external consultants, and collaborate with various disciplines. This hybrid role allows flexibility in working locations, requiring office visits 2-3 times a week.

We're looking for a Civil Design Technical Lead to take ownership of civil and structural design elements for water and wastewater treatment projects. You'll manage external consultants, review designs for compliance and buildability, and collaborate with other disciplines to deliver safe, efficient, and cost‑effective solutions. From feasibility studies to detailed design and commissioning support, this role offers variety and impact‑perfect for someone who combines technical expertise with strong coordination skills. This role is a hybrid where you will be expected to attend the office 2–3 times a week. The contractual office base is flexible and can be either Ilkeston, Cookstown, Balcombe or Apsley.
