Job description

Elvet Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Design Engineer / Senior Design Engineer on behalf of a civil engineering / water main contractor.

Position Overview

This reputable Water / Utilities contractor is growing and needs a Design Engineer or Senior to supplement their in‑house design team. The work covers the Yorkshire Water framework mainly, with potential involvement on United Utilities projects. The contractor has a turnover of £500m+ and is established internationally, known for large / heavy civil engineering, water, tunnelling & structures.

The successful Engineer will be responsible for in‑house design & coordination of external design consultancies on Civil Engineering works for Major Water Treatment works and storm tanks (projects from £500k to £20m+). This role is based out of an office in Leeds with regular site visits and offers hybrid working & flexibility.

Duties

• Detailed design work on water projects: waste water and clean water.
• Allocating and managing CAD output from technicians.
• Represent company in meetings, client & stakeholder interactions.
• Undertake site visits to gather information & data.
• Work with Project Managers to ensure smooth delivery on site.
• Documentation & drawing reviews.

Experience Required

• Must have experience working as Design Engineer for a civil engineering contractor delivering heavy civil engineering work.
• Must have experience dealing with clients & external stakeholders.
• Ideally have knowledge of waste water design including attenuation / drainage design and balancing.
• Must have fluent IT & English writing skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD beneficial.

Remuneration

On offer is a salary of up to £55,000 (dependant upon experience) plus package (Car allowance, pension, fuel scheme, holidays, healthcare etc.).
