Job summary

Alexander Associates Technical Recruitment is seeking a Civil Design Engineer for a hybrid role in Tunbridge Wells (Kent). The successful candidate will contribute to water and wastewater infrastructure projects, delivering civil design work with a collaborative team.

Flexible hybrid working is available with some office presence. The role requires a civil engineering degree and experience in civil design, preferably in infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) required.
• Experience in civil design for infrastructure, water, or wastewater projects.
• Familiarity with civil engineering standards and construction methods.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or similar design software.
• Exposure to BIM processes is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Good communication and collaborative teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of civil design packages across multiple projects.
• Assist in coordinating and reviewing designs to ensure compliance with standards.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, and process engineers.
• Collaborate with external consultants and clients as required.
• Contribute to feasibility studies, detailed design, and construction support.
• Ensure designs are practical, safe, and cost-effective.

Our client, a leading contractor in the UK water and civil engineering sector, is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join their growing design team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions across water and wastewater projects, while developing your technical expertise within a collaborative environment. Flexible hybrid working is available, with some presence required at the Tunbridge Wells office.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of civil design packages across multiple projects
• Assist in coordinating and reviewing designs to ensure compliance with project and regulatory standards
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and process engineers
• Collaborate with external consultants and clients as required
• Contribute to all stages of project delivery, including: Feasibility studies Detailed design Construction support, Support design reviews, risk assessments, and technical documentation
• Ensure designs are practical, safe, and cost-effective

Skills & Experience Required

• Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• Experience in a civil design role, ideally within infrastructure, water, or wastewater projects
• Understanding of civil engineering standards and construction methods
• Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or similar
• Exposure to BIM processes is advantageous
